|Why do I feel like I'm on a game show? Or in some kind of strange reality TV/Internet experience? "HERE I AM WORLD... LOVE ME!" Ok, I'm not *that* narcissistic and I don't plan on trying out for any reality shows anytime soon, but if you want to know why I love my life, read on to learn a little bit about me.|
I'm known to have a "Macgyver-like" Spidey-sense that serves me well in my work as a multimedia programmer for live stage and concert shows. I've toured with all kinds of groups from Bugs Bunny to Ozzy Osbourne to Barry Manilow and the pressure to make sure everything runs well can be intense. One time I fixed a projector cable with a busted piano wire (I always seem to find a solution to technical problems).
I don't tour as much anymore but I like that the work I do as a freelance Editor/Programmer lets me take time off when I want. And though my work has taken me around the world, now I want to take the time to see some of the places I've visited (when touring, your "view" of a city consists largely of a plane, a bus, a hotel, a venue -- rinse & repeat). There's so much in life that interests me, I'm never short of something to do. I'd love to find someone who has a similar passion for life. I just returned from a cruise to Mexico (just for fun) and what a blast that was. Don't get me wrong, I work VERY hard, but I definitely like to PLAY hard too...
Sometimes, though, it's actually hard to tell the difference between things I do for fun and things I do to make my living. I really enjoy creating all kinds of cool things. Whether I'm editing a movie, writing music, or doing something with a camera or a computer (where I may stay in my cave for several days at a time) -- I love it when I see the finished product and I can say "I created that".
But I'm not all about work (despite how much I enjoy it) -- I can have regular fun too. BD and I were trying to get dates for a cool performance at the Hollywood Bowl where you can take a picnic basket of food and wine, but after striking out royally, we just went ourselves (a guys night) and still had a great time. We ended up sharing the wine with some people in front of us who forgot to bring a bottle opener (we didn't have one either but we had borrowed one before the show, opened our bottles and recorked them -- yeah, we're so clever).
I often go hiking with another friend, but last time we somehow ended up getting slightly lost and returned on a different path than the one we started on. At least I was prepared and we DID make it home. Even so, I went out the next day and bought a GPS unit for future hikes -- it locks onto these satellites in the sky and tells you where you are at all times... It's so cool. Guys may be good at getting lost (I'm particularly geographically challenged), but that doesn't mean we like it...
I'm looking for someone who is happy with her life, someone who loves to laugh and has a positive outlook on life. I have a pretty strong belief that you get what you project. If you've got enough things going on, you probably don't *need* a guy in your life, but you know you can have a lot more fun with the *right* one in it.
My profile says I'm looking for dating, because that's what I want more of in my life right now, but the goal is someone longterm. It's a tough mix to find, but I like someone who can be a girl when she wants to, but has just the right amount of tomboy in her to have fun. The "girl-next-door" can really get my attention. Age doesn't concern me as much as your zest for life. But if you're not sure if we're a match, why not just e-mail me and find out! I'm pretty sure it doesn't cost anything... you just click that button at the bottom of the page and whammo, the lines of communication are open! (and if it's not too much to ask, please say something more than just "hi"... comment on my profile, mention something interesting or fun you did or want to do, anything... anything at all...)
Life really can be simple. If you like someone and feel motivated to do great things when you're around them, it really doesn't matter what you're doing -- you just feel good. I think that's what we're all looking for in life, someone we can just feel good with.
